    1. By the year 2021, all students of Berks Catholic High School will demonstrate the ability to identify and comprehend the connections and interdependence among the academic disciplines. 

     

    Achievement ofthis objective will be measured by:

    A.   An increase in the number ofinterdepartmental meetings.

                   a. Baseline Data: 2012-2013:  25% ofacademic departments at Berks Catholic High School have met with another department to examine the interconnectedness between the two curricula. The Theology and Science Departments met at the end of the 2013 school year and have begun to align their objectives and create curricula that will facilitate interdependencebetween the two departments. 

                   b. Target Goal: 100% of academic departments at Berks Catholic High School have participated in a meeting with another department to examine the interconnectedness between the two curricula.

    B.    Implementation of interdepartmentalstudies assessments.

                a.Baseline Data: 2012-2013: 0% of academic departments have implemented 

                  common assessments.

                b. TargetGoal: 100% of academic departments have implemented common 

                  assessments.

    C.   Completion of a multimedia project demonstrating the integration of two or more curricula.

                   a. Baseline Data: 2012-2013: 0% of students completed a multimedia project 

                  demonstrating the integration of two or more curricula.

                  b. Target Goal: 100% of students have completed a multimedia project 

                  demonstrating the integration of two or more curricula.

    D.2.  Objective #2

     

    1. By the year 2021, all students of Berks Catholic High School will demonstrate improved ability and skill in critical reading of fiction and non-fiction across the curriculum.

     

    Achievement of this Objective willbe measured by:

    1. An increase in PSAT verbal scores (sophomore class)

    a.     BaselineData: The average combined criticalreading scores (male/female) for the 2012 PSAT was

    b.     TargetGoal: A 3% increase in the sophomore PSAT critical reading scores by 2021.

     

    1. An increase in PSAT verbal scores (junior class)

    a.   Baseline Data: The average combined critical reading scores (male/female) forthe 2012 PSAT was 48.5.     

    b.   Target Goal: A 3% increase in the sophomore class PSAT critical readingscores by 2021.

     

    1. An increase in SAT verbal scores (senior class)

    a.   Baseline Data: The average combined verbal scores (male/female) for the 2012 SAT was 525

    b.   Target Goal: A 3% increase in the SAT verbal scores by 2021

     

    D.3.  Objective #3

     

    1.    By the year 2021, all students, facultyand administration at Berks Catholic High School, will improve the overallquality of student life through an increase of awareness and practice ofpersonal responsibility,

     

    Achievement of this Objective will be measured by:

     

    1.    Showing clear improvements in classroom social climate, as reflected in students’ reports of improved order and discipline, more positivesocial relationships, and more positive attitudes toward daily attendance and school work.

    a.    Baseline Data: 68.8% of thestudent body of Berks Catholic participated in extra-curricular activities forthe 2012-2013 school year.

    b.    Target Goal: Increasing thenumber of students participating in school activities from now until 2021 by10%

     

    2.    Having 100% student, faculty and administration participation inthe internationally recognized OLWEUS Bullying Prevention Program.

     

    a.    Baseline Data: Collected through an Olweus Bullying Prevention Survey administered to the entire student body on April 10. 2013.  The results of this survey noted that 13% of boys and girls at BCHS have been involved in bullying.  This number fell below the national average of 18%.  During the academic year of 2012-2013 there were 24 cases of bullying reported to either the disciplinarianor the guidance counselor.

    b.    Target Goal: A 15% decline in the number of bullying incidents reported to the disciplinarian and guidance counselor by the year2017, and an additional 20% decline by the year 2021.
