Anthony M. Balistrere

Mr. B is in 17th year with the Diocese of Allentown and his 8th year as Principal  of Berks Catholic. In 2011 Berks Catholic won the Pro Urbe award from Alvernia University for its Vision and Leadership in the Community. Over the last five years Berks Catholic has sent 95% of its students on to college and those students have collectively earned over 70 million dollars in academic scholarship monies. Tony spearheaded the Excellence, Faith, Future Capital Campaign which yielded 7 million dollars in contributions to build the John R. Post Learning Center.  Which includes a Learning Commons, an expanded cafeteria, STEM Lab and additional classrooms.  As well as Berks Catholic’s first artificial turf on the main stadium field and a new all weather track. Prior to serving as principal at BC, Tony worked at Holy Name High School for ten years and the last 7 of those 10 years as Director of Institutional Advancement. Tony is a member of St. Ignatius Parish, the Penn State Berks Advisory Board, Alvernia University’s President’s Advisory Council, and girls club and former Dancing with the Reading Stars participate for the Yocum institute of the arts. Tony holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Susquehanna University 1993 and a Master’s in educational leadership and principal’s certificate from Alvernia University 2007.  Mr. B's signature phrases are "be great every day and help yourself and others get to Heaven" and GooooooSaints!!"
